Wooden Rings on CHIRP Radio!
“Wooden Rings, an eclectic and ambitious ensemble from Chicago, have managed to encapsulate a sound so uniquely diverse, it quickly finds roots in the hearts of any honest music fan. Although their sound is self-described as “acoustic chamber pop,” the amount of honesty and emotion expelled through their music creates such a direct connection to the listener that it’s as if their songs were being written just for you.”-Old Town School of Folk Music

The High Ceilings
https://www.facebook.com/TheHighCeilings Chicago’s Wooden Rings are gearing up for a new release this summer. The band’s 2012 self-titled debut received some lofty praise, locally. The four-piece is sometimes described as a chamber quartet, though a more rustic, sometimes folky sound seems to shine through more often than anything else. That rusticism, married with confessional lyrics, makes for melancholy songs drenched in the eternal longing for one’s better days. The band features Ramah Jihan (nylon-string guitar, lead vocals, songwriter), Justin Rodig (supporting vocal, clarinet, banjo, bells), Brett Bakshis (electric bass) and Marissa Deitz (cello). Wooden Rings stop The Morning Shift by for a preview of their forthcoming record, Twisted & Tangled, and chat a little bit about their music. The rustic confessional of Wooden Rings by WBEZ’s Morning Shift is licensed under a Creative Commons License.Wooden Rings just played The Morning Shift today and Tony Sarabia was so easy to talk to. Thanks to Tony and to all the crew for listening. It’s such an amazing complex at Navy Pier. Take a listen: https://soundcloud.com/morningshiftwbez/wooden-rings-plays-songs-from

We send our sincerest appreciation and eternal “thanks” to all of you that have taken the time and shared your bread to invest in this project.
Though we have met our goal we’d still like for you to share the Kickstarter with your friends and families in case any of them want to share in this work, from it’s foundation, as well.
Last night’s practice sealed the deal- this record is going to be something else. And to all of you that have pledged, I hope you are very excited about your winnings. With this sort of luck you all should try your hand at the stock market.
Warmly,
Ramah, Brett, Justin, Marissa and our families.

The wine is excellent, the food is choice, and the atmosphere is intoxicating. Come out for the music and stay cause you’re comfy. Get there early, it’s a small room. Khari Lemuel will alaso grace us with his soulful voice and constructions so sensitive, they must be made of honey.
This week and last, Wooden Rings has been modulating carrier signals spilling over Mannhattan on the 91.1WFMU show Shrunken Planet.
These are all quoted directly from folks that have either purchased our recordings or have helped share our music with others:
“I heard part of it on my way back from the grocery store,
and it stopped me in my tracks.”
“Your interview and music really captured my attention.
(It’s something very special when something on the radio can do that these days.)”
“Unique”
“On My Australian Radio Show WMA-FM 94.9 the album Wooden Rings came in at No. 2
on my list of the top albums released in 2012.”
“Amazing album! I can’t believe it took me this long to buy it!”
“The debut of Wooden Rings sounds like nothing I’ve heard out of Chicago in a while, if ever.”
“Ramah Jihan is coming from Fairport Convention/Renaissance/Acoustic Yes vibe that would sound annoyingly precious in lesser hands.”
Thanks for you kind words- RJ of WR
